As part of the School’s sustainability studies, we started the Compost Project! The students are responsible for clearing organic waste (fallen leaves, food scraps, etc.) and bringing it to the composter.

Once the process is completed (meaning that the materials have broken down), the students use the resulting products as fertilizer to improve the soil texture and provide food to plants in the School’s ecological garden.

During the School’s Shelach trips (dedicated to carry out field research on Israel’s nature, history, and society), the students took part in birdwatching activities at the Yarkon Park’s Rosh Tzipor Center. Their hasty arrival from the crowded city’s congestion and morning rush hour stood in stark contrast to the stillness and beauty that surrounded them all at once while they sat quietly in the bird hide facing the lake.

This value-laden educational activity connects the students to a less familiar world. Here, they watch wild animals, listen to birds tweeting, work on the land, and cleanse themselves from their daily routine surrounded by screens and concrete walls.

Enjoying sciences at Bnei Arazim: in science class, students learned about plastics. During the lesson, they and their teacher produced a material called casein, which is obtained by breaking down milk protein. The result was a total surprise, and very easy to make!

In this complex year, we were just waiting to finally go out.. a 2018 tour of Britannia Park on the pits and wells route. What fun it was!! This year, for the first time, a group of students from grade 10 participated in the tour guidance after the route was prepared and the material was studied. We are proud of them!
